How Do You Do That? #4

How many times have you asked that question?

How many times have you been on geocaching.com and seen someone’s
profile that

you really, really liked, yet couldn’t figure out how they did it?
Or saw how

they got all that information into their Nuvi?

Well, here’s your opportunity to find out how!!

I have the location!!!!

I have the free internet!!!

I have the cool projector!!! (I Hope!)

We will be starting all of this fun at 6:00pm until we get so
hungry that we

can’t stand it anymore. If you can’t make it until later, that’s
ok, we’ll wait.

This time we are going to focus on getting PQ’s
made and into

GSAK.  Then fixed up like we want them, then exported to the
GPSr.

We’ll talk about caching along a route using both GSAK and
PQ’s

As a prerequisite, I ask that you at least have a premium
membership to GC.com.

And a paid version of GSAK.  It is worth the money for

both.  I promise!!!

If you think of something that you would like to learn, please let
me know and

I’ll make a list. If you have something specific that you want to
go over, add

it to your “Will Attend” log and I’ll compile a list from that.

Event Cache Georgia Geocacher’s Assn – August 2010 Meeting

An Event cache by GaGeoAssn Event Date : Saturday, August 14, 2010 Remember This Date!
Size:  (Not chosen) Difficulty: 1 out of 5 Terrain: 1 out of 5

Come out and join the GGA for a unique adventure at Panola Mountain State Park. The meeting will begin at 1:00 at the Nature Center. At 1:30, Janet of FatKidsOTWUnite will begin a presentation for new members of the GGA. Janet’s presentation will cover Geocaching 101, including an introduction to the GGA WebSite and Forums. At that time, we will also have available a group climb into the canopy of Naomi Ruth. Don’t worry though – you can do both! There will be plenty of time to climb the tree after Janet’s presentation. There is also a State Park Geo-Challenge cache in this park! More details to follow as this meeting develops – so visit back often.

Pay special attention to the following instructions if you wish to climb Naomi Ruth and sign your name to the log of this unique geocache. There is an $18 per person fee to climb the tree and you must pre-register. A maximum of 60 climbers can be accommodated, so please do not delay your registration if you wish to make the climb. This is a special group rate. You may climb the tree if you are at least 8 years old.

  1. Send an e-mail to gageoadm@yahoo.com stating that you wish to climb the tree.
  2. Access the GGA PayPal account on the GGA homepage to make your payment and secure your spot. Your payment and reservation MUST be made by July 31st – NO exceptions.
  3. You will be assigned a climb time and sent a confirmation e-mail that your registration is complete.
  4. Send any questions you may have to the e-mail address in item 1. This is the only e-mail address that will be monitored for the purposes of registering for the climb.
